The Presbyterian Aged Care Committee was formed in 2002 by the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Australia in New South Wales to:
- exercise governance responsibility for the oversight and operation of all Aged Care activities of the Church in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory,
- apply management control of all homes, nursing homes, hostels, Aged Care services, retirement developments and all associated facilities for aged persons,
- raise funds in accordance with the procedures of the Church to finance Aged Care activities, and
- administer property transactions and manage real estate where Aged Care activities are conducted in compliance with the relevant requirements of The Presbyterian Church (New South Wales) Property Trust Act, 1936 and the Australian Capital Territorys Presbyterian Church Property Trust Act 1971 and their Regulations acting as agents of the Property Trust.
Administration of congregational local Aged Care programmes shall remain with the management committee established for such purpose by the congregation (The Code, Part III, D7.02). For example, many of our Independent Living Units are managed locally in this way.
The Committee annually reports to the General Assembly, and provides the Trustees with regular reports. |
